     The PRTA membership represents an incredible store of knowledge about the nature of retrievers, about hunting, and of course about traditional and modern training methods. Thanks to the apprenticeship system by which most of us learn, the methods and discoveries of generations of retriever trainers are passed on, built upon, and raised to an incredible level of refinement. We do not all train dogs the same way nor hunt the same way, and we may disagree about training methods. Still, the authors of all of the articles, tips, and stories offered here have years of experience and documented success, and are as authoritative as any source you will find on training, handling, and hunting with retrievers.
